ÖLaxV
As lacrosse gains prominence through the Olympic vision and our efforts to engage youth expand throughout Austria, the makeup of our community is evolving and will continue to do so.While ensuring Athlete Safeguarding and a Safe Sporting Environment is always paramount, it holds particular significance now as we welcome a substantial number of young players into our club communities.
Safe Sport, as defined by the International Olympic Committee in 2023, entails providing athletes with a nurturing and respectful environment for training and competition, one free from all forms of harassment and abuse.
Every athlete deserves protection from violence, harassment, and abuse, irrespective of age, race, gender, or any other characteristic. Recognizing that abuse and harassment can manifest in various ways, both physically and mentally, is crucial. Education and raising awareness are fundamental in fostering a safe environment for all members of our community. Each individual within our community plays a vital role in ensuring we uphold our commitment to being a safe-sport environment. Understanding how to prevent abuse and harassment is integral to this endeavor.
